Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

January 13 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Four Athenians run away to the forest only to have Puck the fairy make both of the boys fall in love with the same girl. The four run through the forest pursuing each other while Puck helps his master play a trick on the fairy queen. In the end, Puck reverses the magic, and the two couples reconcile and marry.

In A Midsummer Night’s Dream the play-within-the-play mirrors the play as a whole, both symbolic and literally. The play deals with the irrationality of love and its madness. It also addresses the fine line between imagination and reality. This relates to meaning as it addresses the idea about human destiny.

This Comedy by William Shakespeare is Directed by Caitlin Cutright.

'Buy a Seat' Plaque Campaign

With the Potomac Playmakers "Buy a Seat"  campaign, you can name a perpetual seat in the Lee Stine Auditorium for only $125. A commemorative 1.5" x 3" brass plate with a special inscription will be placed on the back of one of the seats in the theatre. We cannot ensure the specific placement of each plaque location, but early donors will be placed in the frontmost rows. Please consider this long lasting gift to show your ongoing support of the Potomac Playmakers. For a tax-deductible donation of $125 you can have your name, the name of a loved one, the name of your organization, or perhaps a memorial acknowledgement of a departed theater lover, displayed on a brass plaque that is mounted on the back of a seat. Show other patrons that you support the Playmakers and the Arts throughout the tri-state region. There are 94 seats available on which to purchase naming rights. Plaques will be placed on seats on a first-come, first-served basis. You are not purchasing the seat for your use during the season, and naming rights do not guarantee that you can sit in that seat when you come to a Playmakers' production. What you do get, in addition to the permanent plaque, is a free 1-year membership in the Potomac Playmakers, which gets you free admission to all of our Stage Door Productions, which are special events outside of the regular season shows.
