First performed on 14 February 1895 at the St James’s Theatre in London, it is a farcical comedy depicting the tangled affairs of two young men about town who lead double lives to evade unwanted social obligations, both assuming the name Ernest while wooing the two young women of their affections.
With kind permission of Concord Theatricals, this production is directed by Ali Baughman. Auditions will be Monday, September 21 & Tuesday, September 22 @ 7 PM. Auditions will consist of cold readings. British accents are preferred for this production. While there are 9 roles, both male and female, casting is not restricted to traditionally assigned gender roles. Performers of all ages, races, and gender identities are encouraged to audition.
