SUMMARY:Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
DESCRIPTION:Four Athenians run away to the forest only to have Puck the fairy make both of the boys fall in love with the same girl. The four run through the forest pursuing each other while Puck helps his master play a trick on the fairy queen. In the end\, Puck reverses the magic\, and the two couples reconcile and marry. \nIn A Midsummer Night’s Dream the play-within-the-play mirrors the play as a whole\, both symbolic and literally. The play deals with the irrationality of love and its madness. It also addresses the fine line between imagination and reality. This relates to meaning as it addresses the idea about human destiny. \nThis Comedy by William Shakespeare is Directed by Caitlin Cutright. \n\nGet Tickets

SUMMARY:The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee by Rachel Sheinkin
DESCRIPTION:Director Jeff Wine\, Musical Director David Loy\, Choreographer Bailey Kershner \nAn eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives\, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words\, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing\, pout-inducing\, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box. \nPerformed with permission from Music Theatre International. \n\nGet Tickets

SUMMARY:Rocky Horror Picture Pride Show
DESCRIPTION:Potomac Playmakers will be hosting the Rocky Horror Pride Show on Saturday\, July 13th!  Frank ‘N’ Furter and his motley crew will be doing the time warp once again in this Rocky Horror PPP shadow cast performance alongside the cult classic film\, Rocky Horror Picture Show. Complete with sass from the audience\, cascading toilet paper\, and an array of other audience participation props\, this kitschy sci fi gothic is more fun than ever. \nThis show will be much more interactive than the standard Potomac Playmakers production! Doors open at 8 pm and audience members are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy all of the night’s festivities\, including but not limited to\, games with the cast\, and more! The first three rows of the theater are considered the “consent zone.” All patrons seated there during this performance give our actors permission to thrill\, chill\, and fulfill you – though you are still expected to keep your hands to yourself and not interrupt the actors. Participation bags filled with props for audience members to use throughout the performance will also be available at the door and are being sold for $3 each. \nPatrons 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult for this production – ID required. \n\nGet Tickets
